I’m not a regular Mum, I’m a cool Mum.
Except… only according to one child.
Thud thinks I’m amazing. I’ve spent the past five years thinking I’m just about the funniest person alive because I can pull a slightly weird face and he’ll dissolve. It’s been great for my ego.

But see how cool I am? SO FUN.
Until now.
I have another child. A child who does not find me funny. Or clever. Or talented. Or entertaining AT ALL.
I’m not allowed to sing (which is completely fair if I’m honest), I’m banned from dancing in her sight and she won’t even allow talking in the car unless the talking is directed at her.
Tonight she was pretending to be a butterfly so I joined her.
Big mistake. Huge.
Cannot even flap my arms in my own frickin’ house.
And so my mini-me has waged a campaign of scorn, derision and outright abuse in an effort to break my spirit.
BUT I WILL NOT BE BEATEN.
I will return fire with an assault of non-stop singing, dancing, funny voices, animal impersonations and crazy walks. I will drive her to the brink with my coolness.
EVEN IF IT TAKES A LIFETIME.
